The MC 250 is a two-stroke (250cc), the MC 250F is a four-stroke (250cc). Same displacement, different engine. Two-strokes are lighter (5–10 lbs less), have a sharper power delivery, and require pre-mix fuel; four-strokes have broader torque, lower maintenance frequency, and run on pump gas. Most novice MX riders start on a 250F; experienced racers often prefer 250 two-strokes for their handling advantage.
No. The 2026 GASGAS USA lineup is off-road competition only. The MC, EC, and EX models are race-spec without DOT lighting or street-legal homologation. For street-legal dual-sport options, look at the equivalent KTM EXC-F line (also at Moon) or the Husqvarna FE-S models.
Yes. Moon's service department is fully authorized for GASGAS warranty work and routine maintenance, including top-end rebuilds, valve services on the four-strokes, and WP suspension service. The shared KTM-Group platform means our technicians are cross-trained across all three brands.
Yes. Moon offers multiple lender options for new and pre-owned GASGAS motorcycles, with terms based on credit and unit. Pre-approval is available online prior to your visit.
The youth ladder runs MC 50 (4–7 years) → MC 65 (7–10) → MC 85 17/14 (9–12, smaller wheel) → MC 85 19/16 (10–14, full-size 85cc wheels). The 19/16 transition is the gateway to adult MX size; from there it's MC 125 or MC 250F. Spring Creek MX (Millville, MN) runs amateur classes that match every GASGAS MC trim.
Same engine, same chassis platform — different tuning and styling. The KTM 300 XC-W uses KTM's enduro tuning and orange livery. The GASGAS EC 300 has GASGAS's hard-enduro tuning, red livery, and a slightly more entry-friendly demeanor. Both are championship-level hard-enduro bikes; choice typically comes down to brand preference and trade-in math.
