Moon Motorsports began as a small motorcycle shop in Monticello, Minnesota. What started with a handful of motorcycles, a service department, and a commitment to doing things the right way has grown over generations into one of the region’s most recognized powersports destinations.

The history stretches back to 1955, when Moon Motor Sales first opened its doors. In 1971, the Erickson family assumed ownership and began a journey that continues today. Since then, multiple generations of the family have worked in every corner of the business—from sweeping floors and turning wrenches to leading the company through decades of growth, change, and challenge.

Along the way, we have learned that success in this industry is rarely about shortcuts, trends, or grand promises. It comes from showing up every day, paying attention to the details, keeping your word, and continually improving. Those beliefs continue to guide the way we operate today.

Over the years, Moon Motorsports has evolved from a small-town dealership into a destination for enthusiasts throughout Minnesota and beyond. While the size of the business has changed, our approach has not. We remain a family-owned company built around long-term relationships, continuous improvement, and a genuine passion for powersports.
